A FRIENDS group has launched a £5,500 Lottery funded exhibtion capturing memories of Halesowen's Grade 1 listed Leasowes Park.
The large mobile exhibition called Leasowes Past, Present and Future, features a visual collection of local residents' memories of the park off Mucklow Hill.
It was opened on Saturday (May 23) at Leasowes School with representatives from the Friends of The Leasowes present.
Visitors were able to see 12 boards displaying pictures and people's thoughts about the park as well as hopes for its future.
Marianne Diller, spokesperson for Friends of The Leasowes said: "We're absolutely delighted, it's a project so many people have been really keen on for over two years now.
"The finished boards are lovely."
The exhibition aims to highlight the historical significance of the park and will now be moving to schools and libraries across the area.
Marianne said: "We want to take the exhibition into local schools, care homes, shopping centres and libraries to involve the whole community and hopefully stimulate interest in the park."
At the launch there was also a talk by Audrey Duggan titled William Shenstone A Man of Letters and a guided tour of the park.
The project was funded by Awards for All which is administered by the Big Lottery Fund and grants funding to projects which promote education, environment and health.
