ARSONISTS destroyed 80 per cent of a Cradley home after deliberately starting a fire in the early hours of Monday morning.
Fire crews from Brierley Hill and Stourbridge were called to the first floor flat on Windmill Hill, Cradley at 02.36am on Monday.
A spokesman for the West Midlands Fire Service confirmed the blaze was arson and that the fire was ‘severe’.
He said: “The fire was a deliberate ignition. Fire investigation teams and scenes of crime officers have attended the scene.”
Fire quickly swept through the first floor flat in a two storey block and engulfed 80 per cent of the property.
The fire spokesman added: “Six fire fighters with breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive press fan attended the scene.”
No-one was injured in the fire but if anyone has any information about the blaze they are urged to phone the police on 0845 113 5000.
