As a resident of Mucklow Hill for over 40 years, I wholeheartedly agree with D. Price (October 29) concerning the fiasco that is Mucklow Hill. I can assure you that I was not consulted, nor can I find any resident who was.
As for making it easier for us to exit driveways it now takes 10-15 minutes at certain times. Residents have to put up with the road rage and excess noise every day. As for the council's supposed ‘Green Policies’, these are a joke – what about excess fumes from stationary vehicles choking the atmosphere and the residents.
To add to the mayhem, planning permission has recently been granted for 66 new dwellings on the old MEB site. This will bring more traffic chaos as these additional vehicles have to enter and exit onto Mucklow Hill without any alteration to the existing road layout.
Obviously the Highways Authority is managed by people who do not know the area and certainly can't or won't drive.
