TWO youngsters from Halesowen have been elected to Dudley’s Youth Parliament.

Lucy Taylor, aged 15, and from Halesowen and Adam Cullen, 12, are now fully fledged Members of Dudley Youth Parliament.

Over 8,600 young people, between 11-18-years-old , voted in youth centres, primary and secondary in the elections this year.  The new Members of the Youth Parliament (MYP) will now carry out the duties drawn up in their manifestos and take forward the views of young people in Dudley at a local, regional and national level. Councillor Liz Walker, cabinet member for children’s services, said: “The youth parliament is a great introduction to politics and gives young people a first-hand chance be involved with policy making. The winning candidates can really make a difference to the lives of other young people in Dudley borough. Congratulations to the winners and I hope they enjoy the challenges in the year ahead.”
