HALESOWEN'S annual Jazz in the Park is being held on Sunday (July 11) not Saturday as previously reported.
There will be music and cream teas in the beautiful gardens of Lapal House, Lapal Lane South, from 2pm.
Visitors can stroll through the historic gardens, dance on the manicured lawns and indulge in home-made cakes and a glass of bubbly.
Former big band leader Tony Billingham, who owns the Lapal House Residential Home with wife Pam, said: “The gardens, designed by British poet William Shenstone in the mid 1700s, are at their best this time of year.
“They are a perfect example of living history and in recent times a previously lost sunken garden has been restored in a wooded area.
She added: “The marquee is up ready and all we need now is some sunshine. Hopefully, we’ll be able to play standards like Ella Fitsgerald’s hit Stormy Weather without the downpours,” he added.
Mr Billingham’s cruise ship band Europa will also be performing. Tickets available on the day are £3. All proceeds will go to The Friends of Lapal House for the benefit of residents.
The News apologies for the date error.
