FIRE CREWS had to sort out a sticky situation last night after a HGV lorry shed its load and spilled over 200 litres of glue.

The northbound carriageway of the M5 between Oldbury and West Bromwich had to be closed overnight.

A spokesman for the West Midlands Fire Service said: “Approximately 200 litres of glue and thinners covered 150 square metres of the highway.

“The spill did not enter the water course and we absorbed the product with sand which was provided by the Highways Agency.”
