TWO Halesowen women bared all, but kept their modesty discreetly covered, when they found themselves in the frame for a revealing fundraising venture – a nude calendar.

Following in the wake of the famous WI ladies, Jackie Robinson, Elaine Bourne and other craft making enthusiasts have become calendar girls, in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

Mother-of-two – and grandmother – Jackie, aged 51, and 50-year-old Elaine, who has one son, teamed up with other members of Bearwood-based Crafty Corner to make the calendar using strategically-placed craft materials and products.

The pair both feature in April, holding cut-out Easter Egg shapes to ensure that just the right amount of bare flesh is on show.

Jackie, of Lodgefield Road, is also drinking tea in November, while Elaine, of Woodbury Drive, is discreetly posed behind a bookcase in January.

”I never thought I would do anything like this, and I would do it again, although the rumour is the next one will be a bit more racy,” said Elaine, who stepped in at the last minute when a member of the team had to drop out.

Jackie added: “I was nervous at first, but we just got on with it. It was done really professionally and the shoot was well-organised.”

The 2011 calendar features 22 women aged 26 to 72, who attend Crafty Corner workshops and classes and was shot in a day by photographer Stephen Hayes.

It was made in memory of three-year-old Ethan Marshall who died from a congenital heart condition last year and whose grandmother attends classes and also bared all.

Copies are available from Crafty Corner, Sandon Road, and from the models.
