GOLDEN couple Iris and George Ward, from Rowley Regis, renewed their vows at a special church service, before enjoying a party and a second honeymoon in Torquay to mark their 50th wedding anniversary.
Original bridesmaids Hazel Tromans and Patricia Marks joined family and friends for the occasion at Blackheath Church, with good friend Rev Carole Christenson conducting the service.
Iris, aged 68, and 76-year-old George, of Uplands Avenue, met while working at Edwin Danks, of Oldbury, and have two children and two grandchildren.
George was a draughtsman and spent most of his career, about 30 years, at Wellman Incandescent, of Smethwick.
Give and take in a relationship is Iris’s recipe for a long and happy marriage.
