A FAMILY butcher has put Halesowen on the map after scooping several awards for their prize winning Steak and Ale pies.

Don Guest and Son Butchers, who have been trading on Stourbridge Road since 1972, walked away with Best Steak and Ale Pie, Best Pie and Best in Show awards at the prestigious West Midlands Product Show Colin Guest, who took over from his father in 1995, said: “We are delighted that our Steak and Ale Pie has put Halesowen on the culinary map and we also won prizes for our pork pies and sausages.”

And Colin, aged 47, puts the success down to a tried and tested formula.

“The secret is using great ingredients and taking care over every pie that is produced.”
