Brenda Round, who has been serving up the school dinners at Corngreaves Primary School, Plant Street, for a quarter of a century, is leaving the school to spend more time with her family.

She said: "I have really enjoyed working with the children and seeing them grow up.

"We seem to have come full circle with ingredients - I used to always use fresh ingredients when I first started here and now we have come back to them again.

"I like the changes I have seen."

Penny Garratt, school secretary, said: "Brenda knows just what all the children like and she will be greatly missed."
