REPRESENTATIVES from the area’s four big clubs teed off in an annual golf tournament in Halesowen to raise £400 for charity.
Aston Villa emerged as victors in the Pride of the Midlands competition at Halesowen Golf Club, after playing teams from Wolverhampton Wanderers, West Bromwich Albion and Birmingham City.
A cheque for the proceeds raised was presented to the Alzheimer’s Society this week (March 8) The tournment, played last November, included ex-Wolves players Ron Flowers and Robbie Dennison.
President Brian Stokes said the charity was chosen in memory of the late wife of one of the club’s members.
