The RSPCA Birmingham Animal Centre is holding a charity golf day at Halesowen Golf Club to help raise cash and rehome dogs.

The golf day on Thursday, August 25, is the first for the RSPCA in Halesowen and the cost per team of four is £200 and there are a host of prizes on offer.

Helen Tuite, Community Fundraiser for the centre, said "This is our first golf day and we are so grateful to Halesowen Golf Club for letting us hold it on their beautiful golf course.

“In addition to this, we have a lot of local companies and supporters who have entered teams so far. However, if people can't enter a team, they could support us by sponsoring a hole instead, perhaps in memory of a pet - the cost is £50 for companies or £30 for individuals.

“All money raised will go towards looking after abandoned and ill treated animals that we care for at the centre, like Libby here who is a very intelligent dog who loves being around people, and desperate to find a new home."

Quinton estate agents Scriven and Co, chartered Valuation Surveyors and Estate Agents, are backing the event.

Martin Scriven said: "We are delighted to support such a great charity as the RSPCA because of the amazing work that they do, especially as it's for the local animal centre, so that we can see first hand how our money is helping.

“Being a dog owner myself, I know how much love they give back, so it would be amazing if we were able to find Libby a new home."
