ALMOST 200 families have visited a new learning centre based inside an Oldbury supermarket since it opened at the end of November.

Explore Learning is a network of tuition centres across the UK that provides English and maths tuition for children between the ages of 5 to 14 years.

They aim to provide a fun after school activity which children of all abilities, including those with special needs and gifted and talented, will enjoy and offer programmes tailored to each child.

Explore Learning helps children build their confidence in literacy and numeracy and works closely alongside local schools and communities by providing free regular tuition workshops.

Oldbury's centre director Hannah Bodley said they had been “overwhelmed” by the response to the facility inside the Sainsbury’s supermarket.

She said: “Since opening, almost 200 families have visited the centre to try out our maths and English curriculum and meet our fantastic tutors.

“We have also been very pleased by the response we have had for our programme of free workshops that we offer schools, and have already worked with many local primary schools such as St Francis, Xavier, Rood End Primary and Brandhall Primary.”

She said parents were turning to extracurricular education to ensure that their children receive the level of education they need to build a stable future.

Oldbury mum Donna Hubbard added: "My nine-year-old daughter comes to Explore Learning and has come on leaps and bounds.”
