FOUNDATION pupils at Lapal Primary School had the chance to see chicks hatch this week.
The children had been watching the progress of the eggs in a special incubator and brooder box.
Foundation teacher Sarah Wootton was delighted with the children’s reaction to the Living Egg program.
She said: “The pupils were fascinated seeing the chickens hatch and they even get the chance to feed them.
“It provided a wonderful stimulus for work across the curriculum and gave the children an amazing experience of a real life-cycle.”
The children have already named the chicks and now let the chicks out of their boxes on a daily basis.
