OLDBURY hairdresser Jennifer Dunn has qualified for the semi-finals of Miss England after clinching the runner up spot in the Miss Black Country competition.

The 22-year-old will compete against 55 beauties from across the country at the end of the month to be one of the 14 finalists in the national gala in Leicester.

Jennifer, who only competed in a pageant for the first time last month said,” I am so overwhelmed, I can’t believe that I was awarded the runner up place in Miss Black Country and am even more delighted that I have been given a place in the Miss England semi-final”.

Head judge David Douglass from Front Models said: “All the contestants performed extremely well and are all winners for making it through to the final of Miss Black Country but Jennifer really stood out and shone in every round.

“We are looking forward to working with her over the coming months to help her prepare for the Miss England semi-final at Champneys in Leicester at the end of this month.”

The winner of Miss Black Country was 22-year-old psychology student Nikki Sahota from West Bromwich.
