I read with interest Cllr Ray Burston's letter in letters page September 28.

I understand along with many other members of the public of halesowen that the Halesowen Area Committee meeting on September 12 invited as per their newspaper advertisement to come and discuss "any matters" that they wish.

Cllr. Ray Burston now claims it was announced long before the "fiery meeting" that matters about schools could not be discussed. Perhaps he could enlighten the public further.

At the meeting attended by myself, I saw no abuse of "ORDINARY MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC". Perhaps he could enlighten us all what he deems to be "ordinary".

The only abuse I encountered was that being dished out by Cllr Burston and Cllr Harold Jackson. They should both learn some manners.

Not only did they not listen to the parents whose schools were being closed down but they were not listening to local residents who had other issues. The only "stupidity" I witnessed that evening was that created by themselves.

It is not the Labour Party that have grabbed headlines it is the shoddy treatment given to decent taxpayers by Harold Jackson and Ray Burston. Just carry on digging yourselves further deeper, Mr. Burston!
