AN aspiring Rowley Regis author is hoping her first published children’s story book will be a big hit with young readers.
Loren Ford’s A Little Glow, tells the tale of how a star loses its shine but finally gets it back.
The 20-year-old A-grade English A-level student, who now works part-time for her father’s cleaning business, was inspired to write by her older sister Kirsty.
“I’ve always liked story telling and been good at English and she bought me a couple of books on how to write children’s books,” said Loren.
The story is aimed at three to seven-year-olds and she has several more ready to send off to publisher’s Austin Macauley.
Loren, of Causeway said: "There is something about the simplicity and magic of children's books that calls to me. I can only hope that my story will have the same effect on others.”
She added: “My stories are all different, but they all have a message.
“I was really excited to see my first story in print – it was great to receive the first copies.”
A Little Glow is available from Waterstones, WH Smith, Amazon and is also on Kindle.
