THE 12 hour music marathon in aid of refugees hosted by St Margaret’s Church, Hasbury, has been branded a success.
The event celebrated the talents of local musicians as well as collecting money and clothes for refugees.
A total of £1,037.80 was raised on the day as well as 60 bags and boxes of donations for refugees.
Rector Rob Hall said: “We heard 108 different musicians including two vicars, a piano duet, four choirs, a drum group, and a local family von Trapp.
"And finishing off the night with a Freddie Mercury impersonator was quite something."
Organiser Anna-Christine Pridden was delighted how last Saturday's event turned out.
She said: “It was such a wonderful day.
"There were about 20 different instruments including voice, piano, organ, guitar, ukulele, cornet, harp, electric violin, shaker, clarinet, flute, tambourine, Djembe, violin and recorder."
She added: "We also had a fabulous team of over 35 volunteers throughout the day.
"I’d like to thank them all for their marathon efforts in catering and making everyone feel so welcome."
