A QUINTON man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a passenger was killed in a crash on Saturday (November 26).
Liam Ellis, 22, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates Court yesterday (Monday, November 28) in connection with the crash in Adams Hill, Bartley Green, just before 3am.
He was remanded into custody ahead of his next appearance at Birmingham Crown Court on Friday, December 23.
A woman in her 20s − a rear seat passenger in the car, which failed to stop for police before crashing into bollards and a parked van − was confirmed dead at the scene.
A front seat passenger was taken to hospital with a broken foot.
Ellis, of Wiseley Way, is also accused of drink driving, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, and driving while disqualified.
The matter has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) as is mandatory.
Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call police on 101.
