THE Mayor of Dudley will be hosting a charity cake sale and coffee morning tomorrow (Friday December 8).

Held annually in the Mayor’s Parlour at Dudley Council House, the event sees cakes sold and items raffled off to raise money for the Mayor’s charities - Dudley Mind, the YMCA Black Country Group and the Dudley branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.

The Mayor of Dudley, Councillor Dave Tyler and his wife, Barbara, will be hosting the event which will see representatives from his charities, members of the public and council staff dropping by between 10am and 1pm for a hot drink and slice of donated cake.

Cllr Tyler said: “The Christmas coffee morning is a lovely way to start the festive season, it’s very informal but always busy and it’s great to see supporters of my charities and be able to thank them, wish them the best for the season and raise money at the same time.

“I hope that lots of people stop by during the morning to say hello, pick up a calendar and have a warm chat over a hot cup of tea.”

A two-year calendar designed by students at Dudley College will also be on sale at the event, for £10.

The first 12 months features photographs of the borough taken by students at the college, while the second year comprises paintings of local scenes by Tipton born artist Graham Colbourne who is allowing his pictures to be produced free of charge.
