A CHARITABLE Black Country funeral directors are kicking off 2018 with a bring and buy sale to raise money for Mary Stevens Hospice.

The fundraising event will take place at H Porter & Sons’ new event space called ‘The Lounge at Old Church House’ in South Road, Stourbridge, between 9.30am and 11am on Friday, January 12.

Organisers at the funeral directors are asking all guests to bring an item to be donated to the sale to raise funds for the hospice, which has been supported by H Porter for more than 25 years.

Lucy Porter, owner, said: “H Porter & Sons Funeral Directors are proud to have spent another year supporting Mary Stevens Hospice.

“Both as a business and individually, we are honoured to be ambassadors for Mary Stevens Hospice and feel so passionate about the work that they do.

“We look forward to many, many more years of association and support.”

All guests will be given a free drink and a raffle ticket with the chance to win a bottle of champagne as part of their £1 entry price.

Ruth Longville, fundraising office manager at Mary Stevens Hospice, said: “H Porter & Sons have supported the work of our hospice for many years and we are delighted to continue this relationship into 2018.

“We’d love to see our supporters enjoying this bring and buy morning and kicking off the new year by getting along to The Lounge, and trying to win that well-deserved bottle of bubbly.

“We're privileged to receive the continued support of H Porter and proud to call them a devoted partner of this charity.”
