FIRE crews rescued a cat who was trapped 45 metres up a tree in Dudley this weekend.

Crews from Dudley Fire Station staged the dramatic rescue of the cat at Priory Park on Easter Sunday.

The fire fighters, along with help from the RSPCA, used a hydraulic platform to guide the cat down the tree.

The brave moggy then jumped 20 metres into a waiting sheet where it was safely caught.

The cat is believed to have been trapped at the dizzying height for two days.

Dudley Fire Station took to social media to confirm that the cat is now safely home.
