CBEEBIES television star Andy Day will be making a guest appearance at intu Merry Hill next Saturday to help Marmalade the Mammoth celebrate his first birthday as the centre's official mascot.

The giant orange mammoth has proved extremely popular with both children and parents alike since taking up his role at Merry Hill.

So to mark his first birthday party, the children's TV presenter will be leading two parades around the centre on Saturday, May 25 at 12.15pm and 1.55pm.

There's also an opportunity for some lucky visitors to obtain free tickets to watch Andy perform his 'Dino Rap' and then attend the first reading of the new 'Where's Marmalade?' storybook with sessions taking place at 12.20pm and 2pm.

There will also be a party zone for Marmalade running from 11am until 4pm which will be situated on the lower mall close to the customer service desk.

Visitors can enjoy birthday cupcakes, a balloon photo wall and book stand where both new and existing intu Family Club members can pick up a free copy of the 'Where's Marmalade?' book.

There's also the opportunity to take part in an interactive Marmalade racing game which will be featured live on the centre's giant 230 inch big screen.

Children will be able to join in the fun by using their own mobile phones as the controller.

Tickets for the shows will be available on Friday May 17 from 9am by going to: www.intu.co.uk/merryhill
