AN independent Stourbridge café will be refashioning itself as a licensed bar on Friday nights.
Greys café in Market Street is staying open later on Friday nights - adding an extra element to the town's night time economy.
Owner Sally Jones said: "We started doing it a couple of weeks ago - staying open from 6pm onwards. This Friday will be our third week. We're just trying to do something a bit different. If it goes really well we'll probably open on Saturday evenings too."
The café, which has been trading for four years, will be serving up sharing platters for customers to nibble on while enjoying a glass of gin, wine or beer.
It's not the only café type venue in the town that is open into the evenings.
The recently launched vegan eaterie VGN Boulevard in Coventry Street is open until 9pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 8pm most week nights. Delightful Desserts in Foster Street is open until 10pm, seven days a week and Bella Rose Café in the High Street is also open until 10pm every night except Mondays.
Meanwhile - a plan has been submitted to turn the former Co-op unit in Stourbridge High Street into a new Loungers café/bistro which would open until 11.30pm Sunday to Wednesday and until 12.30am on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
