A MAN was arrested in Lye this morning (Wednesday January 29) after reportedly brandishing a knife in the High Street.

The incident unfolded after an ambulance crew, driving through Lye, spotted a man with two dogs - waving a knife about - and reported the incident to police.

PCSO Neal Hunt said in a neighbourhood alert: "Lye NHT officers attended the High Street and the male wouldn’t co-operate with officers and walked off towards Chapel Street waving the knife about.

"After a struggle with officers the male was detained and conveyed to custody by response officers from Brierley Hill Police Station, who were also on their way to the High Street."

The man, aged 30, was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of possession of a knife.
