THE trial of two Dudley men charged with killing a woman in the town is set to begin at Birmingham Crown Court on October 2.

The body of 42-year-old former market stall holder Julie Rawson was found dumped in a secluded area a month after she disappeared from her home in Green Park Road, Kates Hill.

Nathan Maynard-Ellis, 29, of Mission Drive and 24-year-old David Leesley of Dereton Close, Russells Hall, both in Dudley, have denied murdering the victim.

The two men made a further appearance before Wolverhampton Crown Court when Judge Amjad Nawaz granted a request from the prosecution to extend their custody time limits.

The Judge ruled the two men must remain behind bars until October 9- a week after the start of their trial which is scheduled to be held in front of a High Court Judge.

Mr Peter Grice, prosecuting, told the Wolverhampton Court they wanted expert reports from pathologists after they had examined the decomposed and dismembered body.

The application was not opposed by barristers representing Maynard-Ellis and Leesley who appeared before the court on a TV link from Birmingham's Winson Green prison.
