AN AWARD winning John Lennon impersonator is set to bring the legendary Beatles' songs to life in Brierley Hill later this month.

Gaz Keenan, who was crowned the best John Lennon in ITVs The Big Audition, will perform at Brierley Hill Civic Hall on March 28.

The 39-year-old from Swindon fronts John Lennon Tribute UK and the band will perform classics including Imagine, Working Class Hero and Stand By Me in the show.

Gaz said: "John's songwriting genius really comes from being able to convey such emotion into his songs. I think John had an incredible instinct for writing great melodies and ideas but he had Paul's (McCartney) sense of music and structure to really pull the ideas into cohesive songs.

"Later, in the studio his ideas really came into their own and he had the great George Martin to really realise his vision, think Strawberry Fields and I Am the Walrus."

The show, called Lennon Respective, starts at 8pm on Saturday, March 28 and tickets are available on the John Lennon Tribute website.
