A TEENAGER fatally stabbed in Dudley has been named by police as Harvey Waterfield.

The 19-year-old was found with a stab wound to his back on Spring Pool Meadow in the Russells Hall area, just before 7pm on Monday (March 16).

His devastated family have released a heartfelt tribute to Harvey and have appealed for anyone with information to come forward.

In a statement the family said: "As a family we are devastated at the loss of our son Harvey.

"He was an amazing son and brother and words can’t possibly explain how we are all feeling.

"If anyone has any information about what happened to him please come forward and tell the police.

"We ask for some level of privacy as we deal with this tragic event."

Police have arrested a fourth person on suspicion of murder, after making three arrests on Monday.

The fourth person, an 18-year-old man, was arrested on Tuesday (March 17) and remains in police custody.

Magistrates have today (Wednesday, March 18) granted a further 36 hours for detectives to continue their questioning of a 20-year-old man and two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, who were arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder.

DCI Jim Munro from the homicide team, said: “While we now have four people in custody we are still appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident to get in contact with us.”

Dudley Police Commander, Chief Superintendent Sally Bourner, said: "Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Harvey at this sad time. Violence has no place in our community and neighbourhood team officers have been providing reassurance in the local area.

"More broadly we are working hard with partners as a top priority to tackle violence in our borough. This is a fast moving investigation and I would urge anyone with information to do the right thing and get in touch as we work tirelessly to bring those responsible to justice.”

Anyone with information that could help the investigation should contact police on 101 and quote log 3114 of March 16.
