POLICE were called to reports of an assault in Netherton this afternoon.
The domestic-related incident happened outside a house in Saltwells Road near the Asda store just before 2pm today (Monday).
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "We were called to reports of a disorder outside a property in Saltwells Road, Netherton just before 2pm today (Monday).
"One man suffered a split lip in what is understood to be a domestic-related incident.
"Enquiries are under way to understand the circumstances of what happened."
A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said it was called by police to attend the scene at 2.04pm.
He said: "We were called to an assault by West Midlands Police.
"One ambulance attended and the male patient didn't want to go to hospital so was discharged at the scene."
