STOURBRIDGE MP Suzanne Webb has been promoted to a key trade role, following her appointment as Parliamentary Private Secretary for Liz Truss.

Alongside representing Stourbridge, the MP will now also support the Rt Hon Liz Truss, Secretary of State for International Trade and Minister for Women and Equalities.

The appointment will see Ms Webb help to manage the Secretary of State’s relationship with other MPs, assist with the Department’s business in Parliament, and manage key legislation on trade and equalities.

Suzanne said: “I am absolutely thrilled and delighted to be offered this role. Having worked in the global supply chain prior to becoming an MP, I feel very honoured to have been asked to join the team at the Department for International Trade. I hope my experience outside Parliament will help the Department as it negotiates new trade deals around the world.

“There are enormous trade opportunities ahead and the Government is already engaged in negotiations with the EU, the United States and other major economies around the world. I am very much looking forward to getting started in the new role and I will do my utmost to promote the interests of Stourbridge as I do so.”

Liz Truss, said she was “delighted” to welcome Suzanne to her new position, which comes six months after Suzanne won the seat in last December's general election.
