A MAN is "recovering well" after slipping on a roof at Merry Hill.
Paramedics were called to Times Square, close to the bus station, at around 2.15pm on Wednesday afternoon (July 29) after a staff member fell in a 'non-public' area on the roof of the centre.
They treated a man for injuries not believed to be serious, before taking him to Russells Hall Hospital for further assessment.
A spokesman for intu Merry Hill said: “We’re sorry to say that a member of our team was injured in a non-public area of the centre today. They are currently recovering well in hospital and we’ll be supporting them during their recuperation. Safety is always our number one priority and we have already launched an investigation into the cause of the incident.”
A spokeswoman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 2.14pm to Times Square near to Merry Hill Bus Station. One ambulance, a paramedic officer and our Hazardous Area Response Team attended the scene. On arrival we discovered one patient, a man, who had fallen on the roof. He was treated for injuries not believed to be serious before being taken to Russell’s Hall Hospital for further assessment.”
