If we think we’ve seen change over the past 50 years, the coming years we will see significantly more, leading to immense employment challenges according to Kevin Green CEO of the Recruitment & Employment Confederation, who spoke passionately and captivated his audience at the recent HR Professionals Conference.  The talent we need now must be able to inspire and motivate through change and work both strategically and operationally he explained.

It’s true to say that business success is becoming less about having bigger and better strategies and more about having the talent to execute those strategies effectively.  Most businesses are looking for growth but the biggest barrier is people or lack of having the right people in place to support those plans.

High performing employees typically generate 3 times more revenue than average employees and there is intense competition to identify recruit and retain these individuals.  The hard truth is that in today’s market – competitive advantage depends less on  what companies own and more on who they employ – a company’s ability to identify skilled people, not only supports their goals for growth but also deprives the competition of the talent they need to compete – tough but true.
As skilled labour becomes scarcer – so the cost of qualified employees increases – businesses simply cannot afford to make expensive mistakes.  As part of their recruitment offer to clients Hewett Recruitment can support and advise on employer branding, attraction and retention strategies and employee engagement – for a free consultation contact louise@hewett-recruitment.co.uk.
