GRAPHICS student Hannah James is celebrating after her design was picked as Halesowen College’s 2017 Christmas card.

Hannah, from Sedgley, did lots of research for her design and liked the idea of putting together a collage using the different Christmas colours.

The theme was `peace on earth’, which is related to the college’s work on Prevent, looking at global conflict and extremism, and links to the college values and British values of working together and respecting each other.

The 17-year-old, who is a former pupil of Dormston School and is planning to go to University to study illustration, said: “I am delighted to have been chosen as the winner and for my card to be used as the official Halesowen College Christmas card.”

The whole BTEC level three graphic’s group entered designs for the card and the winner was chosen by principal David Williams.

Mr Williams added: “It was really difficult to choose only one design from this live brief – all the work was to an extremely high standard.

“A lot of work and research went into the final design and the card will be sent out to hundreds of the College’s partners, local schools and members of the community.”
