Parents are being reminded that children who enjoy making a splash can seal the deal and make waves at Halesowen Leisure Centre this summer holiday.

Adults and children aged eight and over can test their balancing, clambering and climbing skills on the Mission Impossible-style aqua run in the swimming pool.  Children are encouraged to race each other across the course.  This will take place every Tuesday and Thursday from 1.30 to 3pm.  Restrictions on height and swimming ability apply.

For those who like a more relaxed paddle, from 1.30 to 3pm on Mondays and Fridays giant play mats will be in the pool for people to push, sit or lie on.

Both sessions cost £3.80 for adults and £2.40 for children aged 15 and under with a 50 per cent discount for those with an Options+ leisure discount card.

Councillor Rachel Harris, cabinet member for health, said:

“There’s something so enticing about jumping into water, but sometimes it is good to have a variety of things to do to keep the kids entertained.  Why not have a family challenge to see who can make it from one end of the Mission Impossible aqua run to the other?  Or you can take it easy and come along to one of our play mat sessions.”
