YOUNG people across the borough will be in with a chance of winning an iPad in a Dudley Council run competition.

Entrants will need to design a mobile or tablet app showing ways in which young people could communicate with the council.

Designs can be done electronically or using paper, paint and pens.

Tony Oakman, strategic director for people at the council, said: “As a community council we welcome consultation with all children and young people in the borough.

“Any ideas that are put forward to help us communicate more effectively with children and young people would be very welcome.

“This competition may come up with ideas such as an app or other tool that we can use in the future.”

The competition, which has two age categories – under 14 and 14 to 25-year-olds, aims to encourage young people to use their imagination to create designs comprising of the front and second screens of the app, together with an app name and reason why their design should win.

Entries should be either emailed to designanapp@dudley.gov.uk or posted alongside an entry form toJayne Catley, Priory Hall, Priory Park, Dudley, DY1 4EU, by May 29.
