A PARTY will celebrate 50 years of Sanders Park this Sunday.

There will be circus workshops, face-painting, music from across the eras, tree carving and classic cars, and Bromsgrove Society will be displaying photographs from the last five decades.

Bromsgrove Society chairman Pat Tansell said: "The Bromsgrove Society is delighted to be part of the celebration to mark 50 years of Sanders Park.

“The picture display reflects how people have enjoyed and used the Park as well as the legacy of the Sanders family.”

Council officers will be on hand to discuss proposals for outdoor fitness equipment and plans for new and improved pedestrian and cycle routes.

Cllr Peter Whittaker said: “Sanders Park has been a jewel in the crown of this town for 50 years and has played a part in our residents’ lives.

“Whether it is playing on the swings, feeding the ducks, taking a romantic stroll or enjoying a game of footie, it has a place in all our hearts.

“But it’s about looking forward too and there’s lots of plans underway to make sure Sanders Park continues to meet the needs of everyone and will be enjoyed for another 50 years.”

The event is set to run from 12pm to 4.30pm on September 16 at Sanders Park.
