RAIDERS broke into a Kidderminster council depot and stole power tools and caused damage to three vehicles.

Wyre Forest District Council has appealed for information following the break-in at its Operational Services Depot in Green Street during the early hours of Tuesday, September 11.

A number of powers tools including grass trimmers and leaf blowers and a digital screen were stolen while significant damage was caused to two refuse trucks and a van.

The intruders also vandalised a storage area operated by Wyre Forest Dial-a-Ride.

The council is asking anyone who may have seen or heard any illegal activity taking place between midnight and 5am at the Depot to contact West Mercia Police by calling 0800 555 111.

Councillor Rebecca Vale, Cabinet Member for Operational Services said: “We would really like the public to help us track down those responsible for this attack.

“Not only has it put a number of vehicles out of action, it has also caused distress to the Dial-a-Ride volunteers who provide such a great service to the public.”
