KIND solicitors raised hundreds for a Kidderminster hospice through an afternoon tea event on Severn Valley Railway.

Thursfields Solicitors hosted 28 clients on the steam engine journey from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth and back earlier this month in aid of Kemp Hospice.

Passengers paid for their tickets with profits from the event going to the Hospice in Kidderminster, which offers care and support to patients and families experiencing life-limiting illness and bereavement.

And their efforts saw them collect more than £450 for the charity.

Shane Miller, director of Thursfields’ Family Law department and the company’s lead in the Wyre Forest area, said: “We received really positive feedback as everyone had a great experience – an atmospheric journey while meeting other professionals, enjoying afternoon tea and raising money for a great cause at the same time.

“Kemp Hospice is an inspirational charity in the local community and we were delighted to raise £455 to help them continue their important work.”

Cathy Sloan, head of fundraising at Kemp Hospice, added: “A big thanks to Thursfields for arranging such a good event that raised what are crucial funds for our hospice.

“Donations like this make it so much easier for us to help families who are going through some very difficult stages.”
