A REDDITCH man dedicated to helping people protect themselves is hoping to help make Bromsgrove a safer place to live and work.

Member of the British Combat Association Pete martin, who works at the heart of the community, is launching a new group - Bromsgrove Selfdefence.

Mr Martin founded The Redditch Selfdefence Association and regularly hosts free sessions for vulnerable groups of society, school children, and free training to all uniformed services.

The aim is to give people awareness training and self defence skills, something which is important in these potentially dangerous times, says Mr Martin.

He now wants to do the same for Bromsgrove.

He said: "After the success we have had in Redditch we have now formed Bromsgrove Selfdefence.

"It will work to the same values, and I hope to make Bromsgrove a safer place. Self defence training and support is available to any one in the Bromsgrove area."

He added: "We try to provide as many free servies as possible for the community and welcome sponsors to help support us."

Mr Martin also added that he is still looking for a regular venue in the town.

If anyone can help with sponsoring or knows of a venue, or who would like further information, they can go to redditchselfdefence.co.uk.
