NOMINATIONS are now open for the annual Wyre Forest Sports Awards which recognises talent and commitment in the area.

The event celebrates hardworking and talented individuals, coaches, volunteers, clubs and schools, who have helped make sport and physical activities in Wyre Forest accessible to all ages.

The awards have been organised by Wyre Forest District Council, and shortlisted nominees will be invited to attend a special annual ceremony on Tuesday 15 January 2019.

There are nine categories for the awards which are; junior sportsman, junior sportswoman, junior team of the year, coach of the year, senior sportsman, senior sportswoman, disability sportsperson, unsung hero, and club of the year.

People can nominate by visiting www.wyreforestdc.gov.uk/sportsawards or by emailing Dale Evans at dale.evans@wyreforestdc.gov.uk to request a nomination form.

The closing date for nominations is Sunday December 9.

The event is sponsored by Kidderminster Town Council and there are opportunities available to sponsor the awards at £100 per award.
