A FORMER homeless dog from Bromsgrove is set to be a high street star this Christmas when he features on a new clothing collection created by fashion retailer Oasis.

Dalmation Harvey, who was found a loving new home by Blue Cross in Bromsgrove, is among a number of cats and dogs who feature on the range which includes knits, blouses and dresses and was inspired by the animals helped by Blue Cross across the country.

Harvey was rehomed from Blue Cross’ centre on Wildmoor Lane in Bromsgrove by Annette Gilbert, after his previous owner could no longer look after him.

Mrs Gilbert said she was thrilled with Harvey featuring on Oasis’ new collection.

Bromsgrove Advertiser:

“I was so excited to hear Harvey was going to feature on the collection," she said.

"I can’t wait to buy all my four daughters something for Christmas."

She added: “Harvey is doing really well with us and has even been canoeing in France with us on holiday.

“We can’t thank Blue Cross enough and hope this range with Oasis helps the charity help even more pets like our Harvey.”

The centre in Bromsgrove is one of 33 locations across England and Wales which helps a total of 40,000 cats, dogs, horses and other small animals each year.

Briony Garbett, from Oasis said a Blue Cross campaign last year touched the hearts of the nation and highlighted how pets change our lives.

“We are really excited about the range and incredibly proud to be supporting such an amazing cause," she said.

“Knowing that our customers, many of whom are pet parents themselves, love a fun print and a characterful jumper we felt this was a perfect partnership and something we could really have fun creating."

Sally de la Bedoyere, Blue Cross chief executive, said: “We are delighted that Oasis chose our charity to benefit with this unique new range of pet-themed clothing and gifts - all inspired by the heart-warming stories of real cats and dogs who came to Blue Cross needing our help.

“Each of the pets featured in the collection were cared for by our dedicated rehoming and veterinary teams across the country who help thousands of sick, injured, homeless and abandoned cats, dogs, small animals and horses every year.

“We hope Oasis customers love the range as much as we do.”
