The next phase of Evesham’s permanent creative lighting trail is set to be launched next week with a lights switch-on at the town’s bell tower.

The event, which is part of Enlighten, will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Saturday, December 15, where visitors will have the chance to see a wide range of different lights and colours.

There will be lots to do for the whole family such as lantern making, a drop-in projection workshop and shadow puppetry, as well as refreshments.

The switch-on comes after a successful Lights Up! event at the War Memorial in Abbey Park, Evesham, on November 11.

Jenny Davis, Arts Development Officer at Wychavon District Council, said: “We were bowled away by the number of people that came down to support the launch of the War Memorial lights and moved by the service and performances by Broadway school, Deborah Rose and Martin Riley.

“The lights look amazing and make a huge difference to the park. We are equally excited to launch the bell tower lights and to share our vision with the community.

The "activities we have planned are also fun so get your creative hat on!”

The next phase includes lighting the arch of the abbey remains, as well as lighting and projecting on to All Saints and St Lawrence’s church.
