HUNDREDS of knitted angels are appearing in shops, pubs and hedges around Catshill.

It's all thanks to members of Catshill Methodist Church Centre in Golden Cross Lane, who are offering 400 as gifts to residents in the village.

Each angel has been hand knitted and attached with the label 'Love came down at Christmas'.

The hope is that anyone finding an angel can either take it home or give it to someone else to appreciate.

Rev Anne Smith, the minister at Catshill said: “We hope that the angels will give a moment of joy and peace at this time of the year, and help the folks of Catshill recognise the Love of God that we see through Jesus’s birth.

"And it is as a celebration of that love that the angels have been made and given.”

There is a total of 400 angels appearing during advent – the four weeks leading up to Christmas – and when one is found and taken away, another one is ready to replace it. This will continue until all 400 have been found.
