THIS December, Artrix Cinema in Bromsgrove will be showing a variety of festive flicks, old and new.

And the seasonal fun has started already, and will continue into the New Year.

Screenings for the brand new block-buster film The Nutcracker and the Four Realms have already begun, with further screenings planned for December 10, 21 and December 28.

A spokesman said: “Starring Keira Knightley as the Sugar Plum Fairy, Disney’s new holiday feature film is inspired by E.T.A. Hoffmann’s classic tale.”

But old festive classics will also be in the mix, with a screening of what is perhaps the ultimate ‘feel good’ Christmas movie.

On Friday December 14 at 11am, Artrix will be screening the Christmas classic, It’s A Wonderful Life. Starring James Stewart as George Bailey.

A spokesman said: “The 1946 film has become a firm seasonal favourite.” It tells how a decent man despairs of his life and his world, only to be shown through supernatural means all the good he has managed to do, and how much he would be missed if he ceased to exist.

On Tuesday December 18 at 2pm and 7pm Artrix will screen The Nutcracker: Royal Ballet Live.

The spokesman added: “Peter Wright’s interpretation of The Nutcracker has been enchanting children and adults alike since its first performance by The Royal Ballet in 1984.

“Lev Ivanov’s 1892 ballet combined with Tchaikovsky’s sumptuous, iconic score are presented in a festive period setting with vivid designs to make this a charming and magical production.”

Audiences are invited to sing their hearts out as Artrix screens Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again Sing-a-long Special on Friday December 28 and Saturday December 29.

The spokesman said: “Ten years after Mamma Mia! and the characters are back for the sequel on the sun-drenched Greek island of Kalokairi.

“This is a perfect musical film to bring some sunshine to Christmas.”

And let’s not forget, the hits are from Abba.

The musical fun continues with a sing-a-long screening of Disney’s live action Beauty and the Beast on Saturday December 29.

The spokesman said: “Be our guest, and re-live the magic of the hit movie with this fabulous sing-a-long version where fancy dress isn’t essential but is positively encouraged!”

And what would be the Christmas holidays be without a visit to the Potterverse?

The spokesman said: “Before the children return to school after the Christmas holidays, Artrix will be screening Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald on January 2, 3, 4 and January 8.

The spokesman said: “The Warner Bros. Picture is the second of five all new adventures in J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World
