THE award-winning Palace Theatre has seen a great turnaround in its fortunes over the past few years.

Following a total refurbishment of the building in 2006 a number of improvements have been made from LED lighting for the stage to solar panels on the theatre’s roof.

From 2010 onwards the theatre has saved more than £352,420 in running costs.

The number of performances each year has risen from 179 in 2010/11 to the current 280 in 2017/18.

Ticket sales have also dramatically increased.

All of which means it is making more money than ever - from £591,653 in 2010/11 to more than £1,109,300 in 2017/18.

Theatre manager Tim Mackrill, who took over in 2011, said he was extremely proud of the support he has received in implementing improvements to the theatre from his team.

"We’d like to thank our loyal customers for their support over the years and look forward to a bright and successful future," he said.
