POLICE are appealing for witnesses after two people died following a single vehicle crash on the B4081 Conduit Hill in Chipping Campden on Tuesday, January 1.

At approximately 5.50pm emergency services responded to a report that a green Vauxhall Astra had left the road and collided with a solid structure close to the top of the hill.

Police attended along with the fire and rescue service and ambulance service however sadly the two occupants of the vehicle died at the scene.

They are thought to be local to the area and although formal identification has not yet taken place, they are believed to be a man aged in his 80s and a woman aged in her 90s who are siblings. Their next of kin have been informed and are being supported by a family liaison officer.

No other vehicles are believed to have been involved and the road remained closed until the early hours of yesterday (Wednesday) morning while an investigation took place.

Officers investigating the crash would like to thank the members of the public who stopped and assisted and would like to speak to anyone who might have witnessed what happened but has not yet spoken to police.
