A MAN who drove into another car has been fined by Worcester magistrates.

The court heard that on May 10 last year at about 10pm, Richard Johnson, 43, was driving his Isuzu Rodeo on the B4103 at Evesham.

He attempted to overtake a lorry on a blind bend and hit a car coming the other way.

The police were called, and drug and alcohol tests carried out on the defendant were negative.

Johnson, of Wayside Wychavon Caravan Site, Evesham, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention.

Judith Kenney, for Johnson, said: “He was arrested and then de-arrested and then taken to hospital. A senior officer commended him for his cooperation at the time.

“He thought the bend was further up the road, it was a miscalculation on his part.”

Johnson was fined £135, with costs of £135 and a £30 victim surcharge.
