A MAN was punched several times in the face as he sat helpless in his car during a 'nasty' road rage assault on the main road between Kidderminster and Bromsgrove.

The victim, a man in his 20s, was approached by another man who had stopped his vehicle in front of the victim's car on the A448 Kidderminster Road.

The attacker then reached in through the window of the victim's car to punch him several times to the face and head.

Following the attack, the assailant removed the victim's car keys from the ignition and threw them into the bushes before driving off towards Kidderminster.

The victim sustained facial injuries which required medical treatment.

Police are seeking witnesses to the assault which happened at around 8.30pm on Sunday, March 24 on between Chaddesley and Bromsgrove by Berry Lane.

PC Stanley from West Mercia Police said: "This was a nasty assault that has left the victim injured and shaken.

"We take reports of this nature very seriously and are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the assault to please get in touch.

"You may have noticed two cars stationary in the road at around 8.30pm on Sunday 24 March on the Kidderminster Road between Chaddesley and Bromsgrove by the Berry Lane junction.

"If so please get in touch."

The suspect is described as man in his mid-30s, white, stocky build and was wearing a dark jumper.
