MOTHERS from across Worcestershire are set for a get together to share their experience of breast feeding.

Branches of Coffee#1 in Redditch and Kidderminster will be hosting the Big Breastfeeding Café event on Wednesday May 1.

Nationwide, 91 of Coffee#1’s outlets will host the event to help connect mums celebrate their breastfeeding experiences.

Over 200 mini events will take place on the same day which will include people hosting in their own homes or in independent cafés.

A spokesman for the company said: “Coffee#1 are delighted to be supporting the Big Breastfeeding Café 2019.

“We strive to create an inviting, inclusive space for everyone in the community and welcoming breastfeeding mothers everyday is part of that.”

The campaign is in its fourth year, aiming to bring parents together to share their challenges, rewards and advice about breastfeeding to new families.

It was set up after a survey found 50 percent of mums believed the most helpful advice came from local support groups.

The Big Breastfeeding Café event was founded by breast pump manufacturer Medela.

Sioned Hilton, Medela UK’s education manager, said: “We are finding time and time again that personal advice from mums who have breastfed themselves is invaluable.

“Ensuring that all breastfeeding mums have a reassuring and supportive network is vital.”
