TWO family members must pay out more than £1,000 after dumping waste in a county field.
Hereford Magistrates’ Court was told that Taylor Skidmore had been paid £80 to remove a van full of rubbish from a house before leaving it in Clehonger.
Skidmore, who is 36 and from Madley, admitted three charges of fly tipping as well as not being a licensed waste carrier.
In the case brought by Herefordshire Council’s Community Protection Team, he also pleaded guilty to failing in his duty of care to transfer waste legally to an authorised person.
He was sentenced to a 12 month community order, given five rehabilitation days, and told to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work.
Magistrates also ordered him to pay costs of £561 plus a £15 victim surcharge.
Meanwhile, Skidmore’s mother, Lita Susan Skidmore, admitted two charges of fly tipping and failing in her duty of care to transfer waste legally to an authorised person.
The 64-year-old, who is also from Madley, was sentenced to a 12 month community order, given five rehabilitation days and told to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work.
She must also pay £561 in costs plus a £15 victim surcharge.
The court heard the rubbish was found by the Clehonger landowner and, upon further investigations, it was revealed that Taylor Skidmore would take waste home where his mother would burn it on her land.
